As Programs Expert, Alec provides technical advice and support to ICTJ's programs in Ethiopia, Ukraine, and other countries, helping to conceptualize and implement their activities. Before joining ICTJ in 2015, Alec was an independent research consultant for the University of Virginia School of Law, contributing to the development of multiple academic publications on international law and comparative constitutional law. Earlier in his career, he served as a visiting academic at the Centre for Socio-Legal Studies at the University of Oxford, where he undertook research on human rights and international law. As a program associate at the Foundation for Law, Justice, and Society, Alec helped design and organize lectures, workshops, and panel debates on the role of law in society. He holds a J.D. from the University of Virginia, an M.A. in Human Rights from Columbia University, and a B.A. in Global Affairs from George Mason University.
