Abdelrhman Zayid Ali is the Program Officer for Libya, responsible for conducting analysis and research on the Libyan political situation and transitional justice, and for leading capacity-building training sessions for local civil society actors.

Before joining ICTJ, Abdelrhman worked as an independent researcher and journalist specializing in transitional justice, human rights, and social issues. His work has been featured by regional and international organizations, including the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, Raseef22, and Adala for All.

Previously, he served as Communications Officer for Aman Against Discrimination, a Libyan NGO with special consultative status with ECOSOC. In that role he managed media content related to transitional justice mechanisms and organized key advocacy events, including the Aman conference in December 2021. Abdelrhman has also volunteered with various NGOs, including Belaady and Nuasi, producing multimedia content on issues such as the refugee crisis, racial discrimination, and gender inequality.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Social Work from Libya Open University.
